So, it's nearing that time of year again and let's be honest: You know that sap that cheerfully listens to Christmas music the entire Christmas Season? That's me and I'm just as bad, if not worse, during Halloween. My Halloween village is mostly out, my decorations are on the wall, my costume is picked out, and I'll be buying my candy soon.

So, what's my problem? Halloween music. While I love Monster Mash and Purple People Eater, I'm craving other songs that can fit for the season. I don't care if it's fun or kinda freaky, but I want them. So, I'm asking all of you for recommendations if you have them. It doesn't have to be one written specifically for Halloween either as long as it fits the mood. And don't worry about genre. I'm extremely laid back when it comes to music and the only genre that even gives me a bit of trouble is rap and even some of those songs I find clever.

So, here's my plea: Please help me fill my house and annoy my neighbors with the sounds of Halloween music!
With holidays, planning a dinner, being a game master for my Candyland RP, and horrible writer's block, I haven't been around much let alone finishing my 12 Days. I will finish it. Hopefully before the tenth. Things should be slowing down again in the next couple of weeks so I'll be more around then. I love you all and I hope you all have/had a Happy New Year. Now, I'm going to go back to sleep until I have to start cooking for my dinner tonight. Apparently, Mojitos and wine don't agree with me.
Happy New Years, Everyone!

Mack snickered and clapped at his surrogate sister’s story. “That was nice, Kendrix,” he told her. He waited a second to make sure no one else was going to go before he spoke. “I’ve got my second story. Bridge told me this one…”

Five Golden Rings

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
Prologue
Minor Kai/Leo and Kendrix/Damon. Very minor.

There was a lot of cheering and grinning as well as promises to congratulate the quartet. As a minute, Kendrix sat up straighter. “I believe I should probably take a turn,” she said. “Mine takes place the year after everything happened at Mirinoi…”

Prologue
Okay! So, here's the fifth of the twelve days. Sorry it took so long. As I said before, it's connected with the fourth.

Zack was laughing as she finished. "That's Tommy," he said cheerfully and Kim nodded. "You said you had another?"

Kim nodded. "Yep. It's connected though. It's what happened after the kids got there...

Five Golden Rings )

Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
Prologue
So, while I might have used "Colly" birds last year, I figured that I'd use "Calling" birds this year. Mostly because of the noise factor in the story and it's the only prompt I can switch if needed. As it is inferred, this one and the next one are connected.

After a few cheerful minutes of talking over things about Camille’s story, they were back to figuring out who would go next. Kim paused for a minute before she spoke up. “I have a couple,” she said. “If no one minds that I go twice in row,” she said. No one protested and there was even encouragement. “Okay. So, let’s start with what Hayley told me…”

Four Calling Birds )

Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
Prologue
As you read this, you may realize that there are no hens or birds nor anything French. You might also think that the three played in this is a little sketchy which is fine. According to some of the sites I found, the religious significance behind "Three French Hens" was Faith, Hope, and Charity. That was what I used for the prompt.

Kendrix smiled fondly at Mack as he finished his story as the others congratulated him on both the story and the subject. After the applause had died down a bit, Camille politely cleared her throat and waited for everyone’s attention. “I might have one from a few days ago.” Zack motioned for her to continue. “Well…”

Two Turtledoves
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
Prologue
I find it ironic that Mack and Dax keep getting the turtledoves year after year. I'm starting to wonder if they're my idea of what human turtledoves would be like. Oh well!

There was applause and some squealing from Kim at the idea of another baby coming into the Ranger’s world even if it was from her teammates. After the commotion died down, Mack raised his hand. “I have one. It has to do with last Christmas…”

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
Prologue
This story contains both slash and multiple partners. If even the thought of it irks you, you might want to turn away.

Zack finished putting another wreath up as he began. “Jason told me this one after Wes talked to him earlier. With the holidays, Wes figured this would probably be the easiest way to spread the news…”

Partridge in a Pear Tree )
So, I might be a little late in starting, but I'm still wanting to do the 12 Days of Christmas again. So, it will go on a little longer than Christmas unless I change my mind and decide to double up on a day or two. That said, I wanted to do it differently this year, so this one will have a prologue and epilogue.

I hope you enjoy it!

I just turned in my 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo. So, I'm officially done. Now, I'm going to keep going and stuff, but I'm officially done.

Good luck to the rest of you trying to finish!

Okay, so it's the end of week 2 and my novel seems to be doing fine. Whenever I start, I worry that before revisions, it won't be 50,000 words long. As it is, I'm over half done and I don't think the story is quite half done. Maybe it is. I'm not sure. To be fair, I only figured out a plot 5,000 words in. I'm still waiting for my character muses to throw another fast ball at me. It's a rather entertaining place to be.

I'm at 28,500 words right this second and I'm not considering stopping right this second. After I post, I'll probably get back to work. My cat seems to be a major obstacle in my endeavor as he continually crawls into my lap and tries to push the computer away. I tried to explain to him that I need to get this done so that I can get published and buy lots of cat food, but he wasn't having any of it. *shrugs* It was worth a shot.

When I revise, I want to redo some of the scenes to show more of a connection between the two crews. They're not separate, but I have to split them up for most of the story. Or I might be able to pull it off with another flashback. Hmm... still.

So, that's where I'm at. I'll update again next Saturday.
Here's the second drabble for Meg. Enjoy!

So, until she has the baby and because I can't physically help out, I've decided to write a drabble a day for Meg.

I hope you enjoy them Meg!

Sleeping Partners )
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The plot bunny wouldn't leave me alone and I like the family aspect, though. Since it's Halloween, I decided I should probably post it if I was going to.

By the way, Happy Halloween everyone!

Others )
Like most of my stories, there is a poly-relationship going on where there are more than two people in a relationship. Because of this, there is slash as well. If that isn't your cup of tea, then I couldn't suggest reading further.

I wrote this a while back and decided to post it.

A New Pet )
( Aug. 16th, 2009 12:39 am)
Hey, sorry about the lack of being around. I've just been busy, but I feel a little bad because I miss you guys. I'm just not used to having a boyfriend, a pregnant best friend, other friends who want my attention, a four-year-old godson who is extremely clingy due to getting a new brother/sister (not to mention finding my house the best thing since sliced bread and begging me to be able to come over), and my pets wanting me with their adorableness.

Remy (the rabbit) has even picked up a new game that's sort of like tag. He waits until I'm sitting on the floor, hops up to me, nudges me with his nose, takes off like a shot and waits for me to follow. Once I finally tap him, he runs around in circles and does it again. Dustin (the hamster), on the other hand, recently broke out of his cage, wandered past me, pausing when I woke up to his beady little eyes looking at me like "Oh! Hi! You're up, huh?" The little pest didn't even bother trying to run away. (Yes, my pets love me. Why do you ask?)

I met my boyfriend's parents the other day. They seemed really cool. His mom is really friendly and asked several questions, but seems satisfied. His step-father has quite a bit in common with me actually so the two of us were able to talk about such things as Star Trek, English Major stuff, and mysteries. They had invited me over for dinner. I fell sleep on him last night while he was trying to play a video game. The poor man had to wake me up so he could get home. We're working on Final Fantasy Tactics at the moment. We're also trying to arrange things so that Desi can play a RPG with us since she wants to play, but has the kid and stuff. We might have just found a way to do it. Unfortunately, getting the two of them together has also upped the nagging for me. If their together and I've forgotten to eat, I now have two of them glaring at me and demanding I eat something.

I got to go to Faerie Festival which was great fun. Next year, however, I'm going as a cat. It's easier to do. The costume I made was extremely hot and I ended up buying a jug of water at one point. I took my godson on Family Day which he enjoyed. Unfortunately, the two of us go overheated and headed back to my apartment where I got us some more water and threw in Ice Age to watch. I wasn't about to cancel our Auntie/Nephew day due to heat.

I have been keeping up with everyone's journals, even if I haven't been commenting as much. I'll work on that.
